1. Apologies for Absence

Adam & Carol Bull, Steve Jones Blackett, Claire Johnson, Simon Conyers.

2. Minutes of the Meeting Held 6th November 2025

Amendment: "Trustees Update" should read "Simon Conyers, David Miles and David Lumb have proposed themselves as prospective trustees, being long standing members of the CIO. Hazel Gregory has been a CIO member for less than 2 years, but as per the constitution, is able to stand with agreement of 75% of members of the Steering Group. The new trustees will officially stand for election at the General Meeting on December 4th 2025. If successful, this will allow Martin, Adrian, Steve and Naomi to stand down after a transitional period, but remain active members of the Steering Group."

3. Matters Arising

  • Martin Calvert and Adrian Coltman to install a new information board in the wetland area w/c 8th December 2025.

4. Action Mornings

  • Sunday 16 November 2025
"Martin's Meadow" was raked and cleared, wild flower seed sown and litter picked. Around 25 volunteers were in attendance.
  • Sunday 14 December 2025
Work will include moving brash to the lake dead hedge, tree thinning, hedge maintenance and litter picking. Volunteers to meet at the end of the lake.

Adrian Coltman listed upcoming work for Action Mornings and the "Tuesday Group". David Miles asked for an Action Morning to take place at the old garages site on Lincombe Drive.

5. New Pond Extension Wetland Project

The original trustees would not agree to proceeding with this add-on project due to concerns with the process. They would not therefore sign purchase orders for this project. The original trustees recommended that new trustees consider the project and decide accordingly. David Miles expressed concern that this was not satisfactory as it would lead to contractor uncertainty and an unacceptable further delay to the project.

The new trustees at the meeting were keen to progress the project, agreed to take on the responsibility and agreed to sign the necessary purchase orders.

6. Water Quality Monitoring

There was a discussion regarding the political campaign from Councillor Bowden. Some of the aims of Cllr Bowden align, but not the language used. The resigning trustees do not want FGVW to associate with an aggressive personal campaign and are hopeful that the meeting arranged by David Miles with all parties on 5th December 2025 is the way forward.

7. AOB

  • None.

8. Dates of Next Meetings (Provisional)

  • Action Morning - Sun 14 Dec 2025
